AFTERMATH: Friday 3 Stars
By Staci C. – Silvertips staff writer
1. Carter Hart: There’s not much to say about Carter Hart that hasn’t been said before: he’s good, folks. The game against Spokane was definitely his best of the year as their top 6 has great skill and got a lot of pucks to the net and Carter managed to stop all 39 shots for his 24th career shutout. Carter is 2 shutouts away from the Western Hockey League shutout record. He was tested quite a bit Friday evening but as always he remained calm and read every shot effortlessly. Hart leads the WHL with a 0.96 save percentage and 5 shutouts on the year.
2. Sean Richards: “Richie” has been having quite the year as he got his 12th goal of the season, which ultimately ended up being the game winner at the end of Friday. Richie had a nice unassisted snipe to break the scoreless tie at the end of the second and that play drove a lot of momentum for a very confidently played 3rd period. Richie has 25 points on the year thus far and an astounding 12 goals in his last 13 games.
3. Kevin Davis: Davis continues to not only be very sharp defensively but setting up beautiful plays and getting on the scoresheet night after night. Davis set up a beauty for the insurance goal with a great pass to Bajkov that led to the Fonteyne goal at the beginning of the third period. He has 11 points in his last 12 games and is tied for 8th most points by a defenseman in the WHL with 28.
Honorable mention: Bajkov had another multi-point game and now has 45 points in 31 games. Fonteyne got his 15th goal of the season and has 36 points in 35 games.
