Dennis Williams: “I thought our guys were resilient. It’s something we’ve talked about all year with our group. I thought our effort was there, our execution was there. It was desperate hockey for our club, something was stressed, and I was really proud of the effort by these two guys next to me, and the rest of the group. I thought they responded the way we needed to and the energy was great in the building. It was great playing in front of our fans, and it was also nice to be able to send our 20 year olds off with a win at home. There was a lot of emotion in our room and we know we gotta reset and get focused on a tough game six.”

[On having a travel day before game six]: “It allows us to look at the game, sit back, and see what we have to improve on, and the areas we did well on and try to replicate that come Sunday. It’s a tall task. It’s an exciting game. The games were really five great hockey games. It’s back and forth, and it’s so close between the teams. This time of year that’s what makes it fun.”

Matt Fonteyne [on playing his last game in Everett, if it had sunk in]: “Not really, not yet. Getting that goal, saluting the fans after, they’ve done so much for all of us, including me, [Davis] and [Bajkov]. It’s pretty special to be able to play here five years. Being able to get a win in the last game, it’s something we’ll never forget. You never want to lose on home ice. In front of our fans they’ve done so much for us all year and for my whole career, so we just want to put our best foot forward and keep going every shift, and whatever happens just responding the right way. I think we did a good job, and we just need to reset and get ready for Sunday.“

[On coming back from a tie]: “We tried to not change our game, not grip our sticks. We went into the locker room with a mindset that it’s just another period. We’ve played 100, 101 games this season, so it’s just another third period. We couldn’t overthink it. I thought Richie did a really good job getting the third goal, and Suttsy building on it as well. Really proud of the way the guys responded.”

Riley Sutter [On not wanting to lose on home ice]: “Our lives were on the line, and our backs were up to the wall but I think we responded well this game and we’ll continue to do that.”
