2023-24 Player Profile: Beau Courtney
Beau Courtney made a splash on and off the ice in his sophomore season. The 19-year-old will now have an opportunity to provide some valuable center depth in 2023-24.
2022-23 in review
Courtney exploded out the gate last season, registering a breakaway goal and an assist on opening night and cranking out points in five of his first seven appearances. An injury sidelined him after just 10 games, however, causing him to miss over two months of action.

Upon returning, he had particular success against the eventual WHL champs, netting four of his eight goals on the season against the Seattle Thunderbids. He finished with 18 total points in 47 games played, including five points on the powerplay.
“I thought it was a pretty good year all around,” the Colorado native said at the conclusion of the season. “From where we were at the start of the year to where we are now, it’s a pretty big difference.”
Courtney has now appeared in 101 career regular season games with 12 goals and 14 assists.
U.S. Division Humanitarian of the Year
Courtney’s consistent efforts to involve himself in the community earned him league acclaim. He was named U.S. Division Humanitarian of the Year and was a finalist for the WHL Doug Wickenheiser Memorial Trophy for the league’s award in that category.
“It’s cool to give back to all the fans and the community in general,” he commented.

Courtney was active at a myriad of functions around the greater Everett area. He was a mainstay as a volunteer at the Sam’s Cats and Dogs trial races, made appearances at local elementary schools and was instrumental in a visit to the Bethany Nursing Home in downtown Everett for a game of “noodle hockey.” He also was one of the leading fundraisers at “Tip-A-Tip” for the Naval Recruitment District Seattle Officer’s Fund.
The next step
Courtney is a versatile forward for the Silvertips. He can win faceoffs as a center, can make an impact in front of the net as a sturdy frame causing traffic, or can utilize his hands to make plays in open space as situations dictate.
The key is to find and embrace a consistent role as he enters his graduate season. There’s an open competition for minutes up and down the forward corps, with a particular need for depth down the middle. Courtney, a natural center, can seize the opportunity and give the Tips a two-way threat and a valuable depth scoring piece.
