Tips on the Road This Weekend

Everett will hit the road this weekend starting in Vancouver, BC on Friday, February 23 against the Vancouver Giants. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. The Silvertips will play at Key Arena on Saturday, February 24 against the Seattle Thunderbirds to finish off the weekend. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.

SILVERTIPS LEADING SCORERS
The Silvertips are led in scoring by Zach Hamill (25 goals, 56 assists) with 81 points. Peter Mueller (15 goals, 54 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 69 points. Kyle Beach (28 goals, 31 assists) is 3rd on the team in scoring with 59 points. Hamill currently leads the Silvertips in assists (56) while Moises Gutierrez (35 goals, 18 assists) leads the team in goals scored (35) and power play goals (24). Silvertips forward Kyle Beach leads the hockey club in +/- with a +27. In goal, Leland Irving has posted 28 wins, 1.84 GAA, 93.0% SP and 8 Shutouts. David Reekie is currently 19-3 with the Silvertips and has posted a 1.54 GAA, 93.1% SP and 3 shutouts with Everett this season.

Hamill is 1st in the WHL in assists (56) while Mueller is 2nd in the WHL in assists (54). Moises Gutierrez (35 goals, 17 assists) is tied for 4th in the WHL in goals scored (35) and 1st in power play goals (24). First year forward Kyle Beach (28 goals, 31 assists) is 5th in the WHL in rookie scoring with 59 points and is the leading scorer among all 16 year olds in the WHL. Defenseman Jason Fransoo (7 goals, 30 assists) is 16th among all WHL defensemen in scoring with 37 points. In goal, Leland Irving is 2nd in the WHL in GAA (1.84), 1st in SP (93.0%), 1st in Shutouts (8) and 3rd in Wins (28). David Reekie is currently for 1st in the WHL in GAA (1.80) and 2nd in SP (92.0%).

Saturday night will be the tenth and final meeting of the regular season between the two I-5 rivals. The Silvertips are 6-3 against the Thunderbirds this season and 2-2 against Seattle at Key Arena. The Silvertips are 19-17-1 (SOL)-4 (Ties) all time against T-Birds in franchise history and 4-13-3 (Ties) all time against Seattle at Key Arena.

THREE SILVERTIPS TO PLAY AT THE CANADA WINTER GAMES
Three Everett Silvertips will participate at the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, Yukon from February 24 to March 2. The men’s hockey event is held at the Games in place of the World Men’s Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Kyle Beach (90) will play for Team BC while defenseman Matt Strong (90) suits up for Team Alberta and forward Jordan Mistelbacher (90) will play for Team Manitoba.
