MacKenzie, an ’04-born Red Deer, AB native, is coming off a career-best 47-point season over 68 games played in 2023-24 while serving as the Tigers’ captain. He also recorded a goal and two assists in five WHL Playoff games in an opening-round series with the Red Deer Rebels. MacKenzie logged 13 multi-point outings last season, including a career-high three-goal, five-point night on Oct. 27 at home vs Edmonton.
He has recorded 115 points over the course of 197 career games in the WHL dating back to his debut in the 2021 bubble season.
“I’m super excited for this new opportunity,” commented MacKenzie. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about the organization. I couldn’t be more humbled and grateful for the chance to play for the Silvertips. I’m excited to get down and get the ball rolling.”
