Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has signed 1997-born forward Keith Anderson to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.
The Hermiston, OR native currently plays in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) for Compete Hockey Academy. In 13 games played this season, Anderson leads his team in scoring with 23 points (13g-10a) to go along with 10 minutes in penalties.
“We are very happy to have Keith sign a WHL contract with us, and look forward to him wearing a Royals’ jersey in the future,” Royals’ General Manager Cameron Hope said. “He is having a great season, using his skill and size to make a difference on his current team. He’s the kind of player who we expect can make an impact in the WHL in the coming years.”
Last season, Anderson helped the Arizona Bobcats Tier-1 Under-16 team to a state championship. The 6-4, 208 lb forward was selected by the Royals with the club’s sixth round, 115th overall, pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.
The Royals return to Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Tuesday, December 3rd when Victoria hosts projected 2014 first overall NHL Draft pick Sam Reinhart and the Kootenay Ice! Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
