Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has acquired defenceman Damon Agyeman (2002) and a 9th round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft from the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a conditional 6th round pick in 2023.
The Cochrane, AB native has played in 21 games over the course of three seasons with the Tigers and has registered two points (1g-1a) to go along with eight penalty minutes.
“Damon is a strong and athletic defenceman who defends well and moves the puck with velocity. We look forward to welcoming him to the Royals,” said Dan Price, GM and Head Coach of the Victoria Royals.
The 6’3, 190 lbs stay-at-home blueliner scored his first WHL goal on January 11, 2020, against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Agyeman was signed by the Tigers to a standard player agreement in March of 2018. Prior to his call-up to the Tigers in 2018, Agyeman had spent most of his season with the Airdrie CFR Bisons of the Alberta Midget Hockey League.
