Recap: Royals (6) vs. Thunderbirds (1) – November 30th, 2024
The Royals were back at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre for the second of two consecutive games against the Seattle Thunderbirds. After a shootout loss to the Thunderbirds last night, the Royals answered back with a 6–1 win.
The first frame saw Brayden Boehm get the first goal of the game, scoring unassisted in the last two minutes of the period and sending the Royals into the second frame with a 1–0 lead.
After Seattle took two penalties in the first three minutes of the second period, Nate Misskey took advantage of the 5-on-3 power play to score at 2:35, with assists from Cole Reschny and Justin Kipkie. Less than 30 seconds later, Keaton Verhoeff expanded the lead further with another power play goal, assisted by Nate Misskey and Markus Loponen. At 12:42, Markus Loponen gave the Royals a four-goal cushion with assists from Tanner Scott and Cosmo Wilson. The end of the frame saw the Royals kill a four-minute penalty to head into the third period with a 4–0 lead.
At 4:54 of the third period, Teydon Trembecky found the back of the net—assisted by Brayden Boehm—to extend Victoria’s lead to five. Keaton Verhoeff scored his second of the game at 10:34, with assists from Cole Reschny and Brayden Boehm. Coster Dunn got the Thunderbirds their first and only goal of the game, on the power play, just before the 14-minute mark of the third period. The Royals would hold the Thunderbirds off for the rest of the frame to secure the 6–1 win.

What’s Next
