Tough Break For Severson; Released From Team Canada

Damon Severson has been released from Team Canada’s World Junior Team.
The Kelowna Rockets defenceman was one of two players released by Hockey Canada Friday. The other was Hunter Shinkaruk of the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Severson has nine goals and 19 assists in 27 games the season for the Kelowna Rockets.
Brent Sutter’s team took 25 players overseas for the pre-tournament games with plans to cut three of them before Thursday’s tournament opener on boxing day.
Canada’s next pre-tournament game is on Sunday morning against the host Swedes. You can see the game on TSN beginning at 11am et/8am pt.
