GAME DAY: ROCKETS AND BRUINS IN KELOWNA
The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Chilliwack Bruins 6-4 Wednesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, extending its winning streak to seven games.
The Rockets scored four times in the second period to erase a 2-1 deficit and cruised to the win in the third period.
Evan Bloodoff scored twice to lead the offensive attack while Geordie Wudrick added to his team-leading goal total with his 30th of the season. Cody Chikie, Zak Stebner and Colton Sissons, into an empty net, also scored for Kelowna. Tyson Barrie had three assists and Adam Brown earned the win in net.
The win moves Kelowna 10 games above .500 at 30-20-0-0. The Rockets remain a point behind Vancouver in the race for first in the WHL BC division after the Giants 5-4 win over Lethbridge in a shootout.
Roman Horak scored twice for the Bruins and Mike Forsythe had the other Chilliwack marker.
The Rockets now head out on the road for a pair of games in Prince George against the Cougars this weekend. Kelowna and Prince George play Friday and Saturday nights in PG.
The Rockets next home game is Friday Feb. 11 when they begin a home and home series with Chilliwack.

First Period
2:07 Bruins goal – Chilliwack opens the scoring after a point shot bounces off the end boards and comes out front to Mike Forsythe who makes the score 1-0.
4:20 Kelowna goal – Cody Chikie scores to tie the game at 1-1. It’s an unassisted goal after Chikie jumps on a giveaway inside the Bruins blueline and fires a low shot into the net.
9:10 Bruins goal – With action in the crease of Kelowna goalie Adam Brown, Bruins forward Kevin Sundher backhands a rebound home for a 2-1 Chilliwack lead
Second Period
3:17 Kelowna goal – Zak Stebner ties the game at 2-2 with a long shot from the side boards near the point that goes through some traffic and into the top corner .
8:40 Kelowna goal – Evan Bloodoff breaks away from the pack and scores on a shorthanded breakaway to make the score 3-2 Kelowna.
9:03 Chilliwack goal – :23 seconds later the Bruins tie the game when Roman Horak is alone at the side of the net and bangs home a loose puck to make the sccre 3-3.
14:38 Kelowna goal – After a lengthy 5-on-3 the Rockets convert with the Bruins back to a 5 on 4 situation to make the score 4-3. Tyson Barrie spots Evan Bloodoff with a sweet pass and Bloodoff scores his 14th of the season. Former Rocket Curt Gogol and former Rocket coach Marc Habscheid both get unsportsmanlike penalties after the goal and the Rockets go back to a 5-on-3 for a full two minutes.
15:12 Kelowna goal – Just 34 seconds into the power play Geordie Wudrick hammers his 30th goal of the season into the net on a one-timer from the point to make the score 5-3.
18:13 Kelowna goal – Kelowna’s Colton Sissons scores short-handed into an empty net to make the score 6-3.
18:49 Chilliwack goal – With the Bruins on a two man advantage Roman Horak scores his second goal of the game converting a cross crease pass to make the score 6-4 Kelowna.
