Kettles, Boettiger, and Frolo Return to Rockets Following NHL Camps
KELOWNA, BC — The Kelowna Rockets announced today that defenceman Peyton Kettles, goaltender Harrison Boettiger, and forward Jakub Frolo have returned to the club following NHL camps.
Kettles has been reassigned to Kelowna by the Pittsburgh Penguins, while Boettiger and Frolo have been released from their amateur tryouts with the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes, respectively.
All three players are expected to be available when the Rockets open the 2026-27 WHL Regular Season against the Vancouver Giants this weekend.
Peyton Kettles, 19, returns to Kelowna after attending camp with Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-6, 194-pound right-shot defenceman was selected by the Penguins in the second round, 39th overall, of the 2025 NHL Draft and has since signed with the organization.
The Winnipeg, MB product joined the Rockets late last season after being acquired from the Swift Current Broncos. Kettles appeared in three regular-season games with Kelowna, recording one assist, before suiting up in all three of the Rockets’ games at the 2026 Memorial Cup.
Harrison Boettiger, 18, returns after attending Washington Capitals Rookie Camp on an amateur tryout.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound goaltender is coming off a strong 2025-26 campaign with Kelowna, posting a 25-10-5 record, 2.83 goals-against average and .911 save percentage across 41 regular-season appearances.
The Wheat Ridge, Colorado product also started eight games during the 2026 WHL Playoffs, posting a 4-3-0 record with a 3.06 goals-against average and .907 save percentage.
Jakub Frolo, 18, joins the Rockets after attending Carolina Hurricanes Rookie Camp on an amateur tryout.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound right-shot forward was selected by Kelowna in the 2026 CHL Import Draft and is entering his first season in the Western Hockey League.
A native of Vsetin, Czechia, Frolo spent the 2025-26 season with Ilves U20 in Finland, recording 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 37 regular-season games. He added two goals and seven assists for nine points in eight playoff contests.
Frolo will be looking to make his WHL regular-season debut this weekend in Vancouver as the Rockets open up their 2026-27 WHL Regular Season.
The Rockets continue to be represented at NHL camps, with defenceman Nate Corbet and forward Vojtech Cihar advancing to Los Angeles Kings Main Camp, while forward Tomas Poletin has advanced to New York Islanders Main Camp.
