Silvertips Edge Rebels 2-1
RED DEER, AB – The Rebels returned home following an eventful four game eastern road trip to battle the Everett Sivertips, who were making just their sixth ever visit to the Enmax Centrium. This game marked the first of seven straight at the Enmax Centrium for the Rebels.
FIRST PERIOD
The Rebels used their 9th ranked powerplay to open the scoring in this one. Matt Bellerive, who made a strong play to keep the puck in the offensive zone earlier in the shift, worked himself open in front of the crease before sliding the puck home past Everett goalie Austin Lotz. Brady Gaudet and Conner Bleackley assisted on Bellerive’s fourth goal of the season at 3:06, 1-0 Rebels.
The Sivlertips tied things up just over four minutes later. Former Rebels defenceman Matt Pufahl joined the rush, took a pass and snapped one top shelf past Patrik Bartosak for his second goal of the season. Manraj Hayer and Carson Stadnyk earned the assists on the goal, 1-1 game at the 7:37 mark.
SECOND PERIOD
Everett took their first lead of the game while working with a 5-on-3 powerplay. Pufahl, with Bartosak well screened, unleashed a cannon of a shot for his second goal on the night. Ivan Nikolishin and Tyler Sandhu with the assists on the goal, 2-1 Silvertips led at 12:49 of the period.

GAME NOTES – Coming into the game, the Silvertips led the all-time series versus the Rebels 7-3-0-0… Rebels scratches for the game were Jake MacLachlan, Cole Chorney, Grayson Pawlenchuk, Lukas Sutter and Mathew Dumba… The first ever win in Silvertips franchise came exactly 10 years ago on October 8, 2003 2-1 over Seattle.
