Rebels Win 2-1 In Edmonton
EDMONTON, AB – The Rebels needed a third period comeback to win 2-1 over the Oil Kings on Wednesday.
The game was scoreless after the first period.
In the second period, the Oil Kings got a power play goal from Lane Bauer at the 9:09 mark. The Oil Kings took a 1-0 lead into the dressing room after 40 minutes.
The Rebels picked up a power play goal at 5:19 of the third period to tie the game, Adam Musil tipped in a shot from Haydn Fleury, Presten Kopeck also had an assist. Just 1:22 later, Haydn Fleury scored an even strength goal to give the Rebels a 2-1 lead, Mario Grman had the lone assist.
Rylan Toth was busy in the Rebels goal making 40 saves; Tristan Jarry had 21 saves in the Oil Kings net.
The Rebels were 1 for 3 on the power play; the Oil Kings were 1 for 4.
Reese Johnson made his Rebels regular season debut. He was added to the Rebels lineup after his midget team, the Saskatoon Blazers, did not qualify for the playoffs.
