Rebels Win In SO
One night after a thrilling 4-3 win over the Calgary Hitmen, the Rebels went toe-for-toe with Vancouver, and came away with a 3-2 victory Saturday night. Mathew Dumba and Colin Archer were the goal scorers for Red Deer, who lead 2-0 in the third. Neil Manning would tally a powerplay single 16 seconds after the Archer goal, and Jordan Martinook connected 2:30 later, tying the game at 2. While chances were abound, neither team could finish the game off in regulation. A scoreless overtime lead to a shootout, where Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Daulton Siwak scored for the home team. Craig Cunnigham scored for Vancouver.
Darcy Kuemper finished the night with 38 saves. His counterpart, Mark Jensen, stopped 26 of 28 Rebels shots.
After a stretch of 4 games in 5 nights, the Rebels will be off until next Friday when the Prince Albert Raiders pay a visit to the Enmax Centrium
