Former Rebels captain Brett Sutter reaches 1000 AHL games
Former Red Deer Rebels captain Brett Sutter is set to join a rather exclusive club.
Sutter will play in his 1000th American Hockey League game Wednesday night when the Calgary Wranglers host the Ontario Reign at the Scotiabank Saddledome, becoming just the eighth player in AHL history to reach the milestone.
The Viking, AB native joined the Rebels early in the 2005-06 season following a trade from the Kootenay ICE and would collect 37 goals and 55 assists in 123 games with the club.
