Three Rebels on NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch list
Three Red Deer Rebels included on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2026 NHL Draft. The list was released on Monday.
Forward Beckett Hamilton was given a C-rating (potential fourth- or fifth-round pick) while goaltenders Peyton Shore and Matthew Kondro (Lloydminster AJHL) were both given a W-rating (possible sixth- and seventh-round pick). Hamilton was selected by the Rebels in round one, 18th overall at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
Hamilton (’08, Saskatoon SK) was the team’s rookie of the year in 2024-25 after netting 14 goals and 25 points in 67 games.
Shore (’08, Winnipeg MB) has a 3.64 goals-against-average, .868 save-percentage, one shutout and a 7-10-1-0 record in 20 career appearances with the Rebels. He was selected by the Rebels in round five, 100th overall at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
Kondro has appeared in two games for the Rebels since being drafted by the club in round eight, 171st overall at the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. He’s posted solid numbers over the last two seasons with the Drumheller Dragons and Lloydminster Bobcats of the AJHL — 33 games, 19-7-4 record, 2.79 GAA, .906 S%, 1 shutout.
