Rebels Get Verhelst From Spokane
RED DEER, AB – Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the acquisition of 19-year old goaltender Tyson Verhelst and a 3rd round selection in the 2017 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft from the Spokane Chiefs, in exchange for 17-year old goaltender Dawson Weatherill and a 5th round draft pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
Verhelst is entering his third year in the Western Hockey League. He has played in 81 games, with a record of 34-33-1-4, a goals against average of 3.31 and a save percentage of .889.
