Robertson named to World Juniors staff, Josephson scores showcase invite
Perhaps Terence Robertson has become a good luck charm for Team Canada.
After being there for gold medal wins at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship, the athletic therapist for your Red Deer Rebels has been named to Team Canada’s staff for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship in Minnesota. The tournament goes December 26, 2025 through January 5, 2026.
Robertson may have some familiar company at the tournament.
Rebels captain Ollie Josephson is one of the 44 players who have been invited by Hockey Canada to the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase. The event is happening this week (July. 27- Aug. 2) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Thirty-six players are hitting the ice this week while seven others are unable to take part due to injury. The participating players will be split into two teams – Red and White – for practices and an intrasquad game on July 29, before taking on Finland July 30, Sweden on Aug. 1 and the United States on Aug. 2.
Josephson previously won gold with Team Canada at the both 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2024 IHF U18 World Championship. The Victoria, BC native, who was selected by the Seattle Kraken in round four of the 2024 NHL Draft, was Co-MVP for the Rebels in 2024-25.
