Another Rebels prospect who was a tournament all-star for Team Manitoba at last year’s WHL Cup is now on Hockey Canada’s radar.
Defenceman Graeme Pickering (St. Adolphe, Manitoba) was invited to Hockey Canada’s development camp for the World U17 Hockey Challenge. The camp is happening now (July 19-23) in Oakville, Ontario. He had an assist on Monday in a 5-2 win for Team Red over Team White in the camp’s opening exhibition game.
Pickering was a first-round pick by the Rebels in the 2024 WHL Draft and appeared in two games with the club in 2024-25. He played 28 games for RHA Winnipeg U18 Prep and had 21 points.
The 2025 U17 World Challenge goes Oct. 31-Nov. 8 in Truro, Nova Scotia.
