Fonstad and Miller Advance at Sask First Bantam Program

Prince Albert, SK – Prince Albert Raiders prospects Cole Fonstad and Carson Miller have progressed to the Saskatchewan Hockey Association’s Male Under-16 Fall Camp as part of the Sask First Bantam Program.
The Saskatchewan Hockey Association recently held its Male U-16 Summer Camp where they narrowed their list from 42 to 26 players. The 26-player fall camp roster includes three goalies, eight defencemen, and 15 forwards.
Fonstad was selected by the Raiders with the fifth overall selection in the first round of the 2015 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. The Estevan, Saskatchewan product tallied 36 goals and 31 assists for 67 points in 29 games last season. Fonstad also saw time with the Moose Jaw Generals in the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League where he played five games.
Prince Albert took Miller in the first round, 21st overall, in this year’s WHL Bantam Draft. Miller led the entire Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League in scoring last season, collecting 49 goals and 58 assists for 107 points in 31 games.
Fonstad and Miller join three other Raider prospects who have advanced at their provincial under-16 camps. Spencer Moe has moved on in Alberta, while Lane Kirk and Justin Nachbaur have taken the next step in Manitoba.
U-16 Team Saskatchewan will compete at the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup set for October 27 – November 1, 2015 in Calgary, AB.
