The Prince Albert Raiders are committed to making education a priority in the lives of players. The Raiders give players the chance to pursue their dream of playing hockey at the highest level while also reaching their educational goals. Players can even take courses for university credit while playing for the Raiders.
The Raiders hold a proven record for educational success with their players. A Raiders’ player has been awarded the Daryl K. (Doc) Seaman Memorial Trophy as the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year on five occasions, while a Raider has also won the CHL Scholastic Player of the Year three times. Jeff Nelson is the only WHL player to win the CHL Scholastic Player of the Year twice. Prince Albert has also been named the WHL Scholastic Team of the Year on three occasions.
When players have concluded their Western Hockey League careers, they have the opportunity to access their the WHL Scholarship. The WHL Scholarship program provides players graduating from the league with the opportunity to attend the post-secondary institution or career-enhancing program of their choice with one year’s tuition, books and compulsory fees for each season played in the WHL.
