Game Preview: Game 6 vs Vancouver, October 8
SETTING IT UP:
The Prince Albert Raiders (4-0-1-0) host the Vancouver Giants tonight at the Art Hauser Centre. The green and gold picked up a 4-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels in their last game on Saturday night. Brayden Dube, Ty Meunier, and Jonah Sivertson each had two point nights, while Dimitri Fortin stopped 18 of 19 shots for his first win of the season. Tonight is the second game of a six game homestand for Prince Albert.
THE FIRST FOR JONAH:
After 19 WHL games, Jonah Sivertson finally potted his first career goal. It came in the first period on Saturday night against Red Deer, as he took a pass from Linden Burrett and one timed a shot home. In his 19 games so far, Sivertson has one goal and four assists. It was his first career multi-point game.
PENALTY KILL PROS:
While you never want to see a team be shorthanded eight times in a game, the Raiders displayed shorthanded perfection on Saturday night. They killed off eight Rebels powerplays in the contest, which catapulted their penalty kill to 81.0% on the season (17/21).
BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT COMING UP NEXT:
On Friday night against the Kamloops Blazers, you can get your hands on the next Prince Albert Raiders bobblehead. The special edition “Juice Bomb” Justice Christensen bobblehead will be available at the game on Friday night, and all you need to do to get your hands on one is donate $2 to the Raiders Education Fund! LEADERSHIP:
The leadership group for the 2025-26 season has been set. Justice Christensen has been named captain for the second straight season. Aiden Oiring, Max Heise, and Daxon Rudolph were named alternates.
UP NEXT:
The Raiders have four games left in their six game homestand after tonight! They host the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night for their only game of the weekend. The green and gold are then off until Friday, October 17th when they host the Regina Pats, followed by a matchup with the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday, October 18th. It will be their first game against Edmonton since game seven of the first round. Prince Albert’s homestand ends on Friday, October 24th when they host the Swift Current Broncos.
