Milestone Monday: Serhyenko Picks Up First Win
On Oct. 8, 2019 at the Art Hauser Centre, Carter Serhyenko skated between the pipes for his first WHL appearance in a rematch of the 2019 WHL Championship Series against the Vancouver Giants.
The rookie netminder turned aside 25 of 27 shots to get his first career win as the Raiders doubled up the Giants 4-2.
Serhyenko finished his first season in the WHL with 15 appearances, posting a 7-5-0-1 record with a 2.21 goals-against average and a 0.916 save percentage.
The Saskatoon product found his name on NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Players to Watch List last week. He was given a “C” rating, which indicates a potential fourth-, fifth-, or sixth-round candidate for the 2021 NHL Draft.
