Game Preview – Pre-season Game 5 vs. Regina
RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (3-1-0-0) close out the WHL Pre-season tonight at the Art Hauser Centre against the Regina Pats (2-2-0-2). Last night in Regina, the Raiders picked up a 3-2 win in a shootout over the Pats at the Brandt Centre. Ozzy Wiesblatt scored his fourth and fifth goal of the WHL Pre-season in regulation. Ilya Usau scored the only goal of the shootout to clinch the win. Boston Bilous and Carter Serhyenko split duties between the pipes for the Raiders.

WIZARD OF OZ: Ozzy Wiesblatt took the lead in pre-season goals for the Raiders on Friday night with a pair of markers. The Calgary, AB product is tied with three other players for second in the WHL Pre-season in scoring with five goals, trailing only Kamloops’ Logan Stankoven. The Raiders forward has scored in all four games, giving him a point streak of the same length. Last season, his longest point streak was five games from Nov. 23 to Dec. 1.
SIGNED: On Friday afternoon, the Raiders announced the signing of 2002-born goaltender Carter Serhyenko to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. Later that night, Serhyneko made 14 saves in the third period and overtime then stopped all three Pats in the shootout to pick up the win in his WHL debut.
ON THE ICE: Nolan Allan, Remy Aquilon, Cole Fonstad, Max Martin, and Cohner Saleski all made their pre-season debuts for the Raiders on Friday night in Regina.
TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT: The Raiders played their first shootout of the WHL Pre-season on Friday. Last season, the Raiders won one of the three shootouts in which they played. Dante Hannoun scored the winning goal in the Raiders’ lone shootout victory last season.
NEXT UP: The Raiders open the 2019-20 WHL Regular Season on Friday night when they take on the Saskatoon Blades where the team will raise the 2019 WHL Championship banner prior to the game.
