St. Georges School win 45th Hockey Hounds Major Bantam Hockey Tournament
The 45th Hockey Hounds Hockey Tournament wrapped up Sunday afternoon with Vancouver’s St. George’s School taking home the tournament championship with a 5-2 victory over Sherwood Park in Sunday’s final at the Kinplex arena. Delta took home bronze with a victory over Prince Albert.
With the championship win on Sunday, St. George’s held a perfect 6-0 record during the tournament, being the only team in the tournament to go undefeated. Going head to head with Sherwood Park, a battle between the AMBHL and CSSHL was highly anticipated. In the end, St. Georges offense prevailed, scoring a total of 32 goals in six games. In the Bronze medal game, Delta claimed the third place title with a 6-3 win over opponents Prince Albert.
Tournament All-Stars included St. George’s Trevor Wong collecting Player of The Tournament, Tournament Most Points, MVP, and First Team All Star Forward. Other notable All-Star candidates included St. George’s Oliver Gabrielson as Best Defenceman, Terris Lappenbush from the Grand Peace Storm as the tournaments Most Outstanding Goalie, and Gabe Klassen from Prince Albert as the tournaments Most Sportsman Like Player.
