Two Hitmen Named to Team East for WHL Prospects Game
Two Calgary Hitmen have been named to the Team East roster for the WHL Prospects Game taking place on Wednesday, February 18, at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
Forward Landon Amrhein and Defenceman Ben MacBeath will both represent Team East at the event. Rosters were selected based on NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings.
Ben MacBeath came to the Calgary Hitmen in a trade with the Kelowna Rockets. He was drafted by Kelowna in the seventh round of the 2024 WHL Prospects draft. A product of Calgary, MacBeath has had an impressive first half of his rookie season in the WHL currently sitting with 32 points (6G, 26A) in 41 games played and a +12 rating. He is currently ranked 20th on NHL Central Scoutings Midterm rankings for the NHL Draft.
Landon Amrhein was originally drafted by the Portland Winterhawks in the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft, the Hitmen acquired Amrhein from the Winterhawks in May 2025. The 6’4 forward from Celina, Texas came to the Calgary Hitmen after having an impressive 2024-25 season with the Dallas Stars Elite, notching 92 points (29g, 63a) in 58 games. Amrhein currently sits with 23 points (7G,16A) in 38 games played. He is currently ranked 85th on NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm rankings for the NHL Draft.
