NEWS: Four Hitmen Named to Eastern Conference All-Star Teams
The Western Hockey League announced today the first and second all-star teams for the Eastern Conference. Calgary has the most players across the two teams with four.
Named to the first all star team is duo Ben Kindel and Oliver Tulk. The line mates combined for 199 points this season, both finishing out career highs. Oliver Tulk finished the season with 38 goals and 62 assists for 100 points. Ben Kindel was right behind the Hitmen’s leading scorer with 35 goals and 64 assist for 99 points in 65 games.
Named to the second all star team is defenceman Carter Yakemchuk and goaltender Daniel Hauser. Both players broke franchise records this season with Carter Yakemchuk breaking the all time record for most goals by a defenceman, while Hauser broke the record for most consecutive shutouts with four. Hauser also now has the record for all-time wins by a goaltender in the WHL with 123.
Yakemchuk finished the season with 17 goals and 32 assists for 49 points in 56 games. Hauser finished out with a 2.55 GAA and a 0.913 SV%.
