Hitmen Look To Get Even With Rivals
It’s round two of a rivalry bout.
The Hitmen travel to Lethbridge to take on the Hurricanes Friday night, (7 p.m., WHL Live) looking to even the season series at one game apiece.
Their last game resulted in a loss on Tuesday Oct. 24, falling to the Spokane Chiefs 6-4. The loss set their record to 4-8-1 on the year. In their last five games they have gone 2-3 with a win on the road and at home.
Matteo Gennaro scored two powerplay markers while Andrei Grishakov and Cael Zimmerman also scored against the Chiefs. Nick Schneider finished the night with 32 saves.
The Hurricanes come into the matchup fresh off a 2-0 win over the Regina Pats on Wednesday night to pick up their second consecutive win. The ‘Canes are currently on a seven game home-stand and have gone 2-1 so far.
Tonight is the second of six meetings between the two clubs and will be the first of three meetings in the next eight days between them.
Lethbridge came away with a 3-1 win on Oct. 15 at the ‘Dome, with Jakob Stukel scoring the lone Hitmen goal.
Following tonight’s Central Division clash, the Hitmen are back at it tomorrow to host the defending WHL Champions Seattle Thunderbirds.
