Cougars Sign Aaron Boyd.
The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce the signing of forward Aaron Boyd (1997 – Winnipeg, MB) to a standard Western Hockey League contract.
Boyd, a 6’2”, 162 pound centerman was selected in the second round (43rd overall) by the Prince George Cougars in the 2012 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. He played for the Winnipeg Hawks (Bantam AAA, Division 1) last season, and scored 16 goals, and 35 points in 30 games.
“Aaron provides a strong compliment to the other two 97-born forwards (Jansen Harkins and Brad Morrison) that we have signed,” said Prince George Cougars Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel Wade Klippenstein. “He’s a good two-way center that is only going to get better.”
Boyd was one of four 97-born players who joined the Cougars during their recent road trip to St. Albert, AB. He dressed in both Cougars victories against the Red Deer Rebels and Medicine Hat Tigers.
This season he’ll play Midget with either the Winnipeg Thrashers or Winnipeg Hawks.
