COUGARS HOSTING MINOR SPORTS NIGHT THIS WEEKEND
The Prince George Cougars in conjunction with Peterbilt are excited to be hosting Minor Sports Night on Friday, February 19th when the Cougars welcome the 2016 Memorial Cup hosts, the Red Deer Rebels. The Minor Sports Team who brings the largest group to the game that night will receive a donation of $1000 courtesy of the Prince George Cougars 50/50 Society.
Minor Sports Night is a celebration for all sports teams in the region, no matter the season! All teams of 10 or more will receive: Special group rates starting at $13 per ticket, free popcorn, and they will also have their team featured on the score clock!
“This contest and the evening in general is not exclusive to hockey teams,” said Prince George Cougars Vice President, Business Andy Beesley. “Our goal is to celebrate all local minor sports and our young athletes who are on their way to becoming excellent athletes and community leaders. Whether your sport takes place on the ice, field, track, matt or gym we want to use this evening to recognize you and your team while giving you the chance to receive $1000.”
You can enjoy all of this in three incredibly easy steps:
- Arrange your group
- Call Eric Ball at the Prince George Cougars office to book your group at: (250) 561-0783
- ENJOY THE GAME!
Prior to puck drop the Prince George Cougars 50/50 Society will also be making a $10,000 donation towards Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Charity program in Prince George. The $10,000 amount comes from the 50/50 proceeds raised by the Prince George Cougars 50/50 Society during Vancouver Canucks Training Camp that took place in Prince George in September, 2015.
“Jumpstart is a national program that ensures that kids who don’t have an opportunity to get involved in sports receive the opportunity and finances to get involved at the local level,” said Prince George Canadian Tire General Manager, David Shuvera. “Canadian Tire in Prince George has been a huge supporter of this initiative for a long time and our positive relationship with the Cougars allows us to partner up so that a significant amount of money can be put forward so that local kids pursuing a wide variety of sports can have access to these funds.”
With only 15 games left in the Cougars 2015-16 regular season, every point is at a premium. The Prince George Cougars enter the weekend with a record of 31-22-3-1 and are currently six points ahead of the Kamloops Blazers for third place in the B.C. Division. Friday’s matchup with the Red Deer Rebels marks the first of back-to-back games for the Cougars against the 2016 Mastercard Memorial Cup hosts.
