COUGARS CALL UP JACKSON LEPPARD
Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins announced today that the Cougars have called up 2000-born forward Jackson Leppard (North Vancouver, B.C.) ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with the Kamloops Blazers.
Leppard (6’1”, 181 pounds) was selected eighth overall by the Prince George Cougars in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and has posted eight goals, nine assists and 24 penalty minutes in 19 games this season with the Vancouver Northwest Giants (BCMML). Last season with the North Shore Winter Club Winterhawks Bantam A1-T1 team, Leppard dressed in 63 games and scored 46 goals and added 43 assists for 89 points and 124 penalty minutes. Earlier this season Leppard represented Team BC at the 2015 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup which took place in Calgary in late October, 2015.
“We are very excited to have Jackson join the Prince George Cougars,” said Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins. “He’s had a very strong season up to this point with the Vancouver Northwest Giants and we wanted to reward him with this opportunity to join our group and make his WHL debut.”
The Prince George Cougars return to action tomorrow night in Kamloops for their sixth meeting of the 2015-16 season with their B.C. Division rivals, the Kamloops Blazers. Following that, the Cougars return home to battle the Victoria Royals twice this weekend on Friday and Saturday at CN Centre.
