Spokane Chiefs Partner with WA State Fallen Heroes Project
Through funds raised in the 2022 Military Appreciation Jersey Auction presented by Pizza Factory, the Spokane Chiefs raised $2,500 for the Washington State (WA) Fallen Heroes Project. This local non-profit organization honors fallen heroes from the Pacific Northwest who have made the ultimate sacrifice after answering our nation’s call.
“We’re so thankful for the strong partnership of the Spokane Chiefs! For years now, they’ve been displaying our fallen hero banners at the annual military appreciation game and providing a very memorable night out for surviving families,” Keirsten Lyons, WA Fallen Heroes representative said. “It’s what we want most, to make sure our military heroes are remembered, and their families are cared for. The Spokane Chiefs direct support and yearly jersey donation helps to do just that. And we especially love the way they rally the community to partner with them.”
The Chiefs wore specially designed Military Appreciation themed jerseys on Saturday, January 29th in a close fought 5-4 win over the Tri-City Americans. “Military appreciation night is one of our most popular games, showing the passion our community has for supporting our fallen heroes.” Chiefs Vice President Jay Stewart went on to say, “WA Fallen Heroes has been an incredible partner to work with and we are happy to continue to support their organization.”
Fans were given the chance to win one of the game worn jerseys in a blind auction throughout the course of the game. A portion of the auction proceeds went to WA Fallen Heroes, to support the families, and to stay engaged in our communities, assuring our Heroes are not forgotten.
