2019-20 Humanitarian of the Year: Noah King
The Spokane Chiefs’ Humanitarian of the Year award seeks to recognize the Chief that both exemplifies excellence both on and off the ice, serving as a role model and leader to all.
This Chiefs are proud to announce that their 2019-20 Humanitarian of the Year is defenseman Noah King.
King, a 20-year-old rearguard from Winnipeg, Manitoba served as the Chiefs’ key speaker at local elementary school visits and community appearances, creating connections with the people of Spokane. King’s kindness, leadership and work ethic demonstrated the values and characteristics most important to the Chiefs’ organization.
Wearing an “A” as an alternate captain on the ice, King set career marks in all offensive categories while leading the WHL in plus-minus with a staggering +60 mark through 64 games. King piled up 40 points (six goals, 34 assists) on the year, including two goals and 17 assists since January 31. He added 58 penalty minutes.
King attended New Jersey Devils rookie camp last fall. He was acquired by the Chiefs in a trade with the Swift Current Broncos in December 2018. He won the 2018 WHL Championship with the Broncos, playing under current Chiefs head coach Manny Viveiros.
Leading the league in the category, King also picks up the Chiefs’ Plus-Minus Award.
