U.S. Prospects Draft Q&A: Anthony McIntosh
On Wednesday, the Spokane Chiefs used the first WHL U.S. Prospects Draft selection in franchise history on Minot, N.D. native Anthony McIntosh.
The 2005-born rearguard recently reflected on his draft experience in an introductory Q & A:
Q: What was your experience like being a part of the first ever U.S. Prospect Draft class?
McIntosh: “I had an idea that I was going to be selected. Mostly, from North Dakota Hockey Hub and teams calling my dad.”
Q: Who is one player that you feel you model your game after?
McIntosh: “I would say (Brent) Burns and (Erik) Karlsson because they’re offensive defensemen, and that’s how I’d describe myself.”
Q: What’s one skill on the ice that you’d say you take the most pride in?
McIntosh: “My skating.”
Q: What’s something you’d consider pursuing outside of hockey?
McIntosh: “I’d be interested in being a lawyer. I’ve just always been interested in it.”
Q: How did you get involved in hockey?
McIntosh: “My stepdad played college hockey in Minot, so I kind of followed after him. I started to like it a lot and had a bunch of friends who played it that I went to school with.”
