WHL AWARDS AND BANTAM DRAFT THIS WEEK

Kamloops, BC – The WHL Awards Luncheon and WHL Bantam Draft is set for this week. The WHL Awards Banquet will be held on Wednesday, May 1^st and the WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday, May 2^nd. Both events will be held in the Sundance Room at the Deerfoot Inn in Calgary, AB.

The Kamloops Blazers are the Western Conference nominee for the WHL Marketing / Business Award.

The WHL Bantam Draft will be held this Thursday starting at 7:30am/PT and the Blazers will have the 19^th overall pick. Those eligible for the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft include graduating Bantam age players born in 1998 from the four Western Provinces and the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Previous first round picks of the Blazers in the WHL Bantam Draft include Jordan Thomson (2011), Matt Needham (2010), Colin Smith (2008), and Brendan Ranford (2007).

For the third consecutive year, both of the WHL annual events will be available, free of charge, via LIVE webcast available at http://www.whl.ca/.
