HAY TIES WHL RECORD, BLAZERS WIN 5-2
The Kamloops Blazers had a great effort in a 5-2 home ice win over the Portland Winterhawks on Friday night. Head Coach Don Hay tied the WHL record for most wins in WHL history with his 742 and will try and break the record on Saturday night against the Winterhawks.
Connor Zary, Justin Sigrist, Jermaine Loewen (2) and Quinn Benjafield had the goals for the Blazers. Dylan Ferguson had 30 saves in goal on the night, while Cole Kehler stopped 20 of 24 shots in the loss.
These two teams will meet on Saturday night at the Sandman Centre as the Head Coach Don Hay has a chance to break the WHL record as he goes for his 743rd career win.
