BLAZERS TWEAK ROSTER WITH TRANSACTIONS
BLAZERS MAKE ROSTER MOVES
Kamloops, BC – Kamloops Blazers General Manager, Craig Bonner, announced today that the Blazers have sent 19-year-old forward, J.T. Barnett, to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a 3rd round WHL Bantam pick in 2013. The team has also added 18-year-old forward, Brock Balson to the roster.
“We’d like to thank J.T. and wish him luck in Everett,” commented General Manager, Craig Bonner. “Brock is a big forward and has WHL experience with the Prince Albert Raiders. He has played well in Junior A this season, and we expect him to be a good fit on our roster.”
Barnett had 4 goals, 2 assists and 6 points in 16 games with the Blazers this season. Balson, who is a Kamloops native, has 10 goals, 9 assists and 19 points in 20 games with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL this season. Last year, Balson played 48 games with the Prince Albert Raiders and had a goal and two assists.
With these transactions, the Kamloops Blazers roster still sits at 23 players, including 13 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goaltenders. This does not include 19-year-old forward Jordan DePape, who is out with a long-term injury.
