BLAZERS TOP GIANTS TONIGHT AT HOME
The Blazers worked hard for a 3-1 home ice victory over the Vancouver Giants in their rematch on Wednesday night. It was Austin Madaisky of the Blazers who opened the scoring in the first, giving the hockey club had a 1-0 lead. Vancouver tied the game late in the second period, with a powerplay marker from Nathan Burns. The Blazers wasted no time taking the lead back, as Bronson Maschmeyer found the back of the net only 21 seconds later. Chase Schaber added some insurance early in the 3rd period as he scored to give the Blazers a 3-1 lead. The Blazers outshot the Giants 34-19 in the game, but were unable to get anything else past Giants’ goaltender Jackson Whistle.
