BLAZERS FALL 6-3 TO HITMEN
The Kamloops Blazers fell 6-3 to the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night. The Blazers opened up the scoring with Austin Madaisky getting the marker on the powerplay. Calgary followed that up with three goals to make it 3-1 after the 1st period. The Blazers made a goaltending change, as Cole Cheveldave started the 2nd period. The 2nd period saw Calgary finding the back of the net two more times, both on the powerplay to give the Hitmen a 5-1 lead after 2 periods of play. Kamloops would score early on to cut the lead, with Tim Bozon getting his 17th goal of the season. Jordan Thomson scored on the powerplay for his first WHL goal. The Blazers played hard in the 3rd period, outshooting the opposition 17 to 8, however they were unable to get anything else past Hitmen goaltender Brandon Glover. Alex Gogolev rounded out the scoring for the Hitmen at 9:09. The Hitmen were 3-for-8 on the powerplay and the Blazers finished 2-for-9.
The Blazers next action is on Sunday night when they host the Prince George Cougars. Game time is 6:00 pm at the Interior Savings Centre.
