BLAZERS ACQUIRE GRIST FROM AMERICANS
Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers have acquired 19-year-old defenseman Sam Grist from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in 2013 and a 5th round draft pick in 2014.
Grist, who stands at 6’4” and 200lbs, is into his third WHL season. The North Saanich, BC native has played 119 WHL regular season games along with 25 playoff games. Grist has recorded two assists in six games this season.
“Sam is a big, strong defenseman who is coming to us from a successful program in Tri-City,” explained General Manager, Craig Bonner. “His experience will add veteran leadership and depth to our back-end.”
With the acquisition of Grist, the Blazers roster now sits at 25 players (14 forwards, 9 defenseman, and 2 goaltenders).
Grist is expected to make his Blazer debut this week.
