KAMLOOPS BLAZERS TRADE MINTEN FOR JORDAN KELLER AND PICKS
KAMLOOPS BLAZERS MAKE SIGNIFICANT TRADE
Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers have traded 19-year-old forward Fraser Minten to the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a 1st round WHL Prospects Draft pick in 2024, a 4th round WHL Prospects Draft pick in 2024, a 1st round WHL Prospects Draft pick in 2025 and 18-year-old forward Jordan Keller.
Minten has played 151 career WHL games with the Blazers over four seasons and has tallied 150 career points.
“Fraser’s character, work ethic and leadership qualities have made a lasting impact throughout the organization in his four seasons with the Kamloops Blazers,” commented General Manager / Head Coach, Shaun Clouston. “We have been fortunate to watch Fraser embrace opportunity, challenge himself every day and go after his dream of becoming a professional hockey player. He has been an excellent example to the players and staff with his level of commitment to improvement. He has been a pleasure to coach and we wish him all the best in his hockey career,” concluded Clouston.
The Vancouver, BC native started the 2023-24 season playing four games in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Upon his return to the Blazers, he was named captain of the hockey club. In seven games this season, he collected 10 points.
In return the Blazers received 18-year-old Kamloops native Jordan Keller. Jordan is a second generation Blazer with his father suiting up for the hockey club from 1992-1996.
“We are very excited to add Jordan to our team,” continued Clouston. “Jordan is a smart, skilled hockey player that has passion and commitment to the game. With only one 2005-born forward on our roster, the addition of Jordan gives us a quality player for the next three seasons.”
Keller has five goals, three assists and eight points in 23 games this year. Last season he had 30 points in 66 games with the Blades.
