2025-26 CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott: Week 5
The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) today unveiled its Week 5 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott for the 2025-26 season.
Through five weeks of the 2025-26 season, the Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), and Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) have emerged as the top three teams in the CHL, each continuing to set the standard across their respective leagues. The Bulldogs (8-0-1-1) retain the No. 1 spot for a second straight week, remaining unbeaten in regulation behind a CHL-best 6.10 goals per game and dominant performances from standouts like Adam Benak, Jake O’Brien, and Marek Vanacker. Just behind them, the Everett Silvertips (9-0-1-0) climb to a season-best No. 2 ranking, extending their 10-game point streak while boasting one of the league’s most balanced rosters led by Julius Miettinen, Matias Vanhanen, and Carter Bear. The Armada (9-1-2-0) rounds out the top three, leading all CHL clubs with a +37 goal differential and powered by elite play from Xavier Villeneuve and Justin Carbonneau, whose offensive consistency has kept Blainville-Boisbriand among the nation’s top-tier teams since opening night.
Beyond the top three, several clubs continue to impress and climb the CHL ladder. The Charlottetown Islanders (9-1-1-2) rose to sixth in this week’s rankings on the strength of a six-game point streak and a pair of hat tricks from Will Shields, who now shares the CHL goal-scoring lead. The Chicoutimi Saguenéens (7-2-0-1) also moved up, reclaiming seventh place thanks to exceptional defensive play – allowing just 1.57 goals per game over their last seven contests – and the continued dominance of Raphaël Précourt in goal and Émile Guité up front. Meanwhile, the Prince George Cougars (7-2-0-0) make their 2025-26 debut in the CHL Top-10 Rankings, entering at No. 10 after a scorching start that included a pair of blowout wins and standout performances from Kooper Gizowski and Joshua Ravensbergen.

CHL Top-10 Rankings – Week 5
1. Brantford Bulldogs (OHL): The Brantford Bulldogs (8-0-1-1) continue to sit atop the CHL Top-10 Rankings for a second straight week following another dominant stretch of play. The Bulldogs went a perfect 2-0-0-0 last week, defeating the Brampton Steelheads by scores of 7-3 and 9-3 to extend their point streak to 10 games and remain unbeaten in regulation—one of only three CHL teams to do so alongside Everett and Prince Albert. Brantford’s offensive firepower has been unmatched, averaging a CHL-best 6.10 goals per game and boasting a +32 goal differential, the second-highest in the CHL. Leading the way, Minnesota Wild prospect Adam Benak was named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week after collecting six points across the two wins, moving into the top spot in OHL scoring with 19 points (5G-14A in 8 GP). Seattle Kraken prospect Jake O’Brien continued his strong start with a pair of multi-point outings to reach 17 points (6G-11A in 8 GP), while Chicago Blackhawks prospect Marek Vanacker (10-G-5A in 8 GP) added two more goals Friday to maintain his OHL lead with 10 goals on the season. The Bulldogs will look to extend their unbeaten run this week with a three-game set that includes a visit to Sarnia before a weekend home-and-home series with Oshawa.
Games this week: @ Sarnia (Oct. 24), vs. Oshawa (Oct. 25), @ Oshawa (Oct. 26)
2. Everett Silvertips (WHL): The Everett Silvertips continue their surge up the CHL Top-10 Rankings, climbing for a third straight week to reach a season-best No. 2 after another strong showing. Riding a remarkable 10-game point streak (9-0-1-0) and a perfect 7-0-0-0 record in October, the Silvertips remain one of just three CHL teams unbeaten in regulation this season, alongside Brantford and Prince Albert. Everett’s success was highlighted by a pair of road wins this past week — a 5-2 victory over Penticton followed by a 3-2 comeback triumph in Kelowna against the 2026 Memorial Cup hosts. Defensively, Everett has been elite, allowing an average of just 2.10 goals per game, the second-lowest in the CHL. Offensively, Seattle Kraken prospect Julius Miettinen (8G-10A in 9 GP) continued to shine with four points (1G-3A) over the weekend, bringing him to 18 points and a share of second in WHL scoring. He’s joined by rookie Matias Vanhanen (2G-16A in 10 GP), who is also tied for second in league scoring with 18 points, including a WHL-leading 16 assists and a nine-game point streak, the longest active run in the league. Meanwhile, Detroit Red Wings prospect Carter Bear (2G-2A in 4 GP) continues to make an impact in his return to the lineup, scoring on Friday and adding an assist Saturday as Everett erased a two-goal deficit. The Silvertips’ near-perfect start will be tested this week when they host Saskatoon and Penticton before closing the weekend with a road clash in Spokane.
Games this week: vs. Saskatoon (Oct. 24), vs. Penticton (Oct. 25), @ Spokane (Oct. 26)
3. Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL): The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (9-1-2-0) slipped one spot in the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the second straight week despite earning four of a possible six points in their three outings. The Armada were explosive in their two victories, scoring eight goals in each game as they powered past Drummondville (8-2) and Shawinigan (8-5), with their only setback coming in a 3-1 loss to Rouyn-Noranda, where Buffalo Sabres prospect Samuel Meloche turned aside nearly everything in sight. Even so, Blainville-Boisbriand continues to boast one of the CHL’s most dynamic offenses, averaging 5.75 goals per game, second only to No. 1-ranked Brantford (6.10), while its +37 goal differential remains the best across all 61 CHL clubs. Defenceman Xavier Villeneuve, one of 16 CHL players to earn an ‘A’ rating from NHL Central Scouting on Monday, had an outstanding week with seven points (1G–6A) over two wins, moving into a tie for the CHL lead in assists (17). He’ll also represent Team CHL at next month’s 2025 CHL USA Prospects Challenge in Calgary and Lethbridge. Meanwhile, St. Louis Blues first-round pick Justin Carbonneau stayed red-hot, recording a hat trick against Drummondville before adding two goals and an assist versus Shawinigan. With 11 goals in eight games, Carbonneau now shares the goal-scoring lead across both the QMJHL and CHL. The Armada, who have ranked among the CHL’s top three teams all season, will look to maintain that status as they visit Québec City and Chicoutimi this weekend.
Games this week: @ Québec (Oct. 24), @ Chicoutimi (Oct. 25)
4. Windsor Spitfires (OHL): The Windsor Spitfires (10-2-1-0) slipped one spot for the second straight week, landing at No. 4 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings after a 1-1-0-0 showing. The Spitfires opened their week with a hard-fought 3-2 overtime win in Sarnia, before falling 5-3 to the Sting at home despite a late rally that tied the game in the third period. 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ethan Belchetz (10G-6A in 13 GP), one of 16 CHL players with an “A” rating from NHL Central Scouting, extended his goal and point streaks to five games and now shares the OHL goal-scoring lead with 10 goals. Los Angeles Kings prospect and Spitfires captain Liam Greentree (4G-4A in 5 GP) made an immediate impact in his return from suspension, tallying a goal and an assist, while Philadelphia Flyers prospect Jack Nesbitt (3G-5A in 8 GP) contributed to all three Windsor goals in Saturday’s loss, bringing his total to eight points (3G-5A) on the season. Defensively, Windsor continues to lead the CHL in fewest goals allowed (2.08 per game) and ranks third overall with a +25 goal differential. The Spitfires will look to bounce back on home ice this week with three games at the WFCU Centre against Ottawa, Owen Sound, and Saginaw.
Games this week: vs. Ottawa (Oct. 23), vs. Owen Sound (Oct. 24), vs. Saginaw (Oct. 26)
5. Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL): The Edmonton Oil Kings (9-3-0-0) held steady at No. 5 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings this week after posting a solid 2-1-0-0 record over the last seven days. Edmonton opened its week with a 6-3 home victory over Portland, then followed up with an impressive 3-2 overtime win in Prince Albert, handing the No. 9-ranked Raiders just their second loss of the season. The Oil Kings’ only blemish came Sunday in Saskatoon, where the Blades scored with five seconds remaining to steal a 4-3 comeback win and deny Edmonton at least a point. With nine wins, the Oil Kings remain one of only three WHL teams to reach that mark so far in 2025-26. 19-year-old defenceman Ethan MacKenzie (4G-5A in 12 GP) extended his point streak to three games, scoring in back-to-back contests before adding an assist in Sunday’s loss. 2026 NHL Draft prospect Joe Iginla (6G-4A in 12 GP), one of 233 CHL players listed by NHL Central Scouting on Monday, also found his scoring touch with goals against both Portland and Prince Albert — giving him tallies in three of his last four games. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Lucas Sawchyn (5G-7A in 12 GP) turned in another strong week, netting two goals versus the Winterhawks and adding an assist in Prince Albert, maintaining a point-per-game pace with six points in his last five games. The Oil Kings will look to build on their momentum as they host Spokane, Regina, and Calgary this week at Rogers Place.
Games this week: vs. Spokane (Oct. 21), vs. Regina (Oct. 25), vs. Calgary (Oct. 26)
6. Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL): The Charlottetown Islanders (9-1-1-2) continue their rise in the CHL Top-10 Rankings, climbing one more spot to sit sixth this week — marking their second straight week of upward movement and a four-spot climb over the past two weeks. The Islanders collected three of a possible four points last week to extend their six-game point streak (4-0-1-1) and have now earned at least a point in 12 of their 13 games this season, with their only regulation loss coming against the No. 3-ranked Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Charlottetown edged Victoriaville 5-4 at home before falling by the same score in a shootout to Val-d’Or the next night. Will Shields (11G-3A in 13 GP), the Videotron QMJHL Player of the Week, continued his breakout season with six goals and one assist across three home games, highlighted by back-to-back hat tricks against Saint John and Val-d’Or — the latter including the game-tying goal that forced overtime. The 19-year-old winger from Falmouth, N.S., now has 14 points in 13 games, and his 11 goals are tied for the lead in both the QMJHL and CHL. The Islanders will look to extend their point streak and keep climbing the rankings as they host Moncton and Cape Breton this weekend at Eastlink Centre.
Games this week: vs. Moncton (Oct. 24), vs. Cape Breton (Oct. 26)
7. Chicoutimi Saguenéens (QMJHL): The Chicoutimi Saguenéens (7-2-0-1) move up one spot to reclaim seventh place in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings after a dominant weekend that saw them outscore their rivals, the Québec Remparts, by a combined 9-2 margin across back-to-back wins. Riding one of the stingiest defensive stretches in the CHL, the Saguenéens have allowed more than two goals just once since September 28, averaging an exceptional 1.57 goals against per game over their last seven contests while posting three shutouts in that span. Goaltender Raphaël Précourt has been a standout, recording consecutive shutouts and stopping all 42 shots he’s faced over his current 120-minute shutout streak. Up front, Anaheim Ducks prospect Émile Guité (7G-3A in 8 GP) continues to lead the charge offensively, scoring in both wins over Québec and extending his point streak to eight games, having found the net in all but one outing this season. Washington Capitals prospect Maxim Schäfer (3G-3A in 8 GP) has also found his rhythm, extending his point streak to five games with goals in three of his last five. The Saguenéens will look to keep rolling this weekend as they host the No. 1-ranked Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on Saturday before visiting Victoriaville on Sunday for another key QMJHL matchup.
Games this week: vs. Blainville-Boisbriand (Oct. 24), @ Victoriaville (Oct. 26)
8. Kitchener Rangers (OHL): The Kitchener Rangers (7-3-1-0) fell two spots in the CHL Top-10 Rankings this week, sliding to eighth overall – their lowest position of the 2025-26 season – after splitting a weekend home-and-home series with the rival London Knights. The Rangers opened the series with a tough 6-1 loss at home to the defending OHL and Memorial Cup champions, marking the first time this season they’ve surrendered six goals in a game. However, Kitchener showed strong resilience the following night, rallying from behind to earn a 3-2 overtime victory in London, with defenceman Jakub Chromiak (2G-4A in 11 GP) netting the game-winner. Over their last six contests, the Rangers have posted a 3-2-1-0 record, including wins in three of their last four outings. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Jack Pridham (6G-5A in 9 GP) extended his point streak to four games and now has 11 points in nine contests, while team captain and Nashville Predators prospect Cameron Reid (0G-5A in 9 GP) has rediscovered his scoring touch with points in three straight games. Allowing an average of 2.91 goals per game, Kitchener will look to tighten defensively as they aim to build on Sunday’s OT win when they host Flint before embarking on the road for a pair of contests in Barrie and North Bay this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Flint (Oct. 24), @ Barrie (Oct. 25), @ North Bay (Oct. 26)
9. Prince Albert Raiders (WHL): The Prince Albert Raiders (7-0-2-0) continue their ascent in the CHL Top-10 Rankings, climbing to No. 9 this week after extending their season-opening point streak to nine games. The Raiders went 2-0-1-0 over the past week, earning home victories over the Kamloops Blazers (5-2) and Regina Pats (6-5) before narrowly falling 3-2 in overtime to the No. 5-ranked Edmonton Oil Kings. Still unbeaten in regulation, Prince Albert remains one of only three CHL teams yet to suffer a regulation loss this season. 2026 NHL Draft prospect Riley Boychuk (2G-9A in 9 GP), one of 233 CHL players named to NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Players to Watch List, stayed red-hot with points in all three games — extending his nine-game point streak, tied for the longest in the WHL this season. San Jose Sharks prospect Max Heise (4G-3A in 7 GP) also impressed, recording points against Portland and Edmonton as he continues to average a point per contest in his first-ever WHL campaign. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Aiden Oiring (5G-7A in 9 GP) remains the team’s scoring leader with 12 points, bolstered by two multi-point performances last week, including a three-point outing against Regina. The Raiders will look to stay unbeaten in regulation when they meet Swift Current in a home-and-home series this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Swift Current (Oct. 24), @ Swift Current (Oct. 25)
10. Prince George Cougars (WHL): The Prince George Cougars (7-2-0-0) make their 2025-26 debut in the CHL Top-10 Rankings after a dominant start to the season that has seen them win seven of their first nine games, including a pair of emphatic road victories last week by a combined 14-3 margin. The Cougars blanked the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-0 before routing the Tri-City Americans 9-3 the following night. With a .778 points percentage, Prince George owns the third-best mark in the WHL, trailing only the No. 2-ranked Everett Silvertips (.950) and No. 9-ranked Prince Albert Raiders (.889). Defensively, the Cougars have been among the stingiest in the CHL, allowing just 2.33 goals per game, second only to Everett (2.10) in the WHL. San Jose Sharks first-round pick Joshua Ravensbergen was stellar in net, recording his first shutout of the season with 36 saves against Seattle and adding another 23 stops versus Tri-City for his fourth win. Meanwhile, Kooper Gizowski (9G-9A in 9 GP) earned Tempo WHL Player of the Week honours after an explosive stretch that saw him register eight points (4G–4A) and a +6 rating over two games — highlighted by a hat trick against Seattle and a five-point performance versus Tri-City. The 20-year-old winger has now registered points in all nine games this season, amassing 18 points (9G-9A) — tied for second in WHL scoring and matching the league’s longest active point streak. The Cougars will look to keep their momentum rolling when they host Medicine Hat and Seattle for three games this week at CN Centre.
