Quinte blanks Thunder Bay 3-0
Facing off in the same division for the a second consecutive tournament, the Quinte Red Devils had another strong start defeating the Thunder Bay Kings 3-0.
The Red Devils blanked the Kings as Braedyn Rogers (1), Beckett Ewart (1) and Thomas Kuipers (1) found the back of the net. Netminder Glen McInnes had a clean sheet, making 15 saves for the shutout while Ben Vreugdenhil collected two assists.
“Our team is very puck hungry and I think we played great defensively. The boys played a pretty solid game and I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the tournaments goes,” said McInnes.
Quinte finished first in the OMHA ETA regular season standings, going undefeated with a 23-0-3 record.
McInnes was awarded Player of the Game honours for the Red Devils, while Thunder Bay goaltender Carter George was also recognized.
Thunder Bay returns to action tonight against the Markham Majors at 9:15pm.
