Warren’s OT winner vaults JRC into Semi-Finals
Top prospect Camryn Warren (4) scored the overtime winner in a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Valley Titans to vault the Toronto Jr. Canadiens into the OHL Cup semifinals.
Back and forth through regulation seeing both teams exchanging goals in the first and second periods with Noah Laus (4) scoring two for the Jr. Canadiens, and Logan Wilson (5) and David Buchman (1) scoring for the Titans.
Titans goaltender Brian Rathwell (34 SV) and Jr. Canadiens goalie Hudson Cicchelli (35 SV) shut the door in third to help send the game to overtime. With under three minutes left in overtime Warren took the puck, cut to the middle and went bardown to give his team the win.
After Warren scored another game winning goal for his team, Laus had lots of praise for his teammate saying, “Cam is a great player, he’s so good and awesome to play with, to see him to do that is amazing.”
“Coming into the wildcard and being in that play-in game we knew where we wanted to go and what our goal was. Now we’re looking forward to hopefully reaching that goal,” said Laus. With his team going from playing in a wildcard play-in game to now a berth in the semi-finals.
Toronto will look forward to the semi-finals now as they face Detroit Little Caesars in semifinal number two at 8:00pm.
Ottawa Valley finishes with a record of 3-2 with Kaden McGregor leading his team in scoring with 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points.
