Taylor’s five-point effort paces Senators in big victory
The Mississauga Senators scored early and often as they opened their 2023 OHL Cup schedule with a 7-2 win over the Barrie Colts.
Caden Taylor (2G, 3A), Briir Long (1G, 2A), Adam Valentini (2G), Jayden Connors (3A), and William Musznski (2A) all had multi-point performances, while Matthew Manza (1G) and Angelo Maggioni (1G) also found the back of the net in an offensive explosion.

Caden Taylor talked about opening up the showcase with five points in the win saying, “We came out hard, stuck to our game plan, played how we know we can, and I think that’s why we came out on top.”

Underage forward Logan Hawery (1G) earned BARDOWN Player of the Game honours for the Colts, while Cole Hodgson (1G) also tallied a goal for Barrie.
Mississauga will look for their second win of the showcase later today as they take on the Whitby Wildcats at 3:30pm. While Barrie takes on the London Jr. Knights at 4:00pm
