Red Devils shut down Admirals, advance to Quarter-Finals
The Wild Card entry Quinte Red Devils are headed to the OHL Cup Quarter-Finals following a 2-0 blanking of the Southern Tier Admirals on Friday afternoon.
Pierce Nelson went the distance in goal for Quinte to record a shutout while Dawson Baker scored his fourth of the showcase and Madoka Suzuki also tallied.
The win improves Quinte to 3-0-1 as they finish atop the Nash Division. The Red Devils are going to the Quarter-Finals for a second straight year.
“I think the group last year was a little more skilled,” said captain Nathan Dunkley who played as an underage with the ’99 team . “Our group finds success through winning battles, out-competing the opposition and working together as a team. We’ve done all of those things well this week.”
Quinte defeats Southern Tier to put an end to their OHL Cup run.
The Admirals finish the week with a record of 1-3-0, being led in scoring by Quinton Fox who scored three goals in four games.
