Rangers add Carson Campbell to blueline
The Kitchener Rangers acquired 17-year-old defenceman Carson Campbell from the Sarnia Sting in a Monday trade.
Campbell, a 6-foot-1, 180Ib. right-shot defenceman from Campbellville, Ont., had been Sarnia’s third round pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
The Rangers sent fifth and eighth-round selections in 2026 to Sarnia in exchange for Campbell, who played in 23 games for the Sting in 2023-24.
“We are excited to add Carson to our group and welcome him to our team,” said Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. “He is a strong skater and puck mover and has numerous years of eligibility left that will allow him to develop and grow with our other young players.”
Campbell is a graduate of the Quinte Red Devils U16 AAA program, a team where he skated alongside other OHL defenders in Ben Danford (Oshawa), Braedyn Rogers (Owen Sound) and Reed Gee (Flint).
“This trade gives Carson the opportunity he deserves,” said Sting GM Dylan Seca. “We’ve seen some progression from some other defencemen within our group and believe this is best for Carson’s development. We wish Carson all the best in Kitchener.”
Campbell will wear #8 with the Rangers this season.
