Colts’ Forward and former Spirit Ivan Telegin Signs with Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets announced on Tuesday that they have come to terms with Barrie forward Ivan Telegin.  The center from Novokuznetsk, Russia was originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round, 101st overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. 

The 19-year old has yet to play a game with the Barrie Colts after being acquired from the Saginaw Spirit in late June.  Barrie shipped the Spirit three draft picks in exchange for the 6’4″ forward.

In two seasons in Saginaw Telegin recorded 105 points in 110 games and potted at least 20 goals in each campaign.  

This season Telegin will play with another Jets prospect in Mark Scheifele before joining former Colts Bryan Little and Alexander Burmistrov in Winnipeg.
