Fenwick commits to Frontenacs

The Kingston Frontenacs announced this week that defenceman Zack Fenwick has committed to play. Fenwick, who was selected by the Club in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection, started the year with the Mercyhurst Lakers in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Originally drafted in the eighth round, 154th overall, Fenwick has played four games so far this season with the Lakers. Last year he had 11 goals and 37 points for the Pickering Panthers in the OPJHL.

“He led his team in scoring by a defenseman last year; was a member of the 2006 Team East Canada at the Canadian Junior Amateur Hockey League Prospects’ game played in Vernon, BC; played in the OPJHL Future Stars Game and made the 2007 Draft-Eligible NHL Central Scouting Watch List,” said Frontenacs’ coach and GM Larry Mavety.

Fenwick will join the club immediately and attend St. Lawrence College while awaiting a transfer to Queen’s University.
