Thursday Highlights: Timleck, Thomas in the spotlight

The Peterborough Petes played from behind most of the night, but tied things up late in the second before Adam Timleck (2) netted the overtime winner with 52 seconds remaining. Chris Paquette (6) tied the score at four on a one-timer while Pavel Gogolev (3), Brady Hinz (4) and Cameron Butler (4) added Peterborough goals. Winnipeg Jets prospect Declan Chisholm finished with a pair of assists. Hunter Jones picked up the win in relief, stopping all 11 shots he faced. The Otters went up 2-0 early in the first period on goals from Chad Yetman (1) and Alex Gritz (2). Kurtis Henry (2) and Kyle Maksimovich (4) also found the back of the net while rookie blueliner Jamie Drysdale had a pair of assists. The Otters narrowly outshot the Petes 36-34. Peterborough climbs to 6-2 atop the East Division while the Otters fall to 1-4-1-0.

NIAGARA 7, BARRIE 2
The Niagara IceDogs took a commanding victory in a meeting of Central Division competitors. Los Angeles Kings prospect Akil Thomas (2, 3) stole the show with two goals and three assists, helping the IceDogs jump out to a 6-0 lead on the Barrie Colts before claiming a 7-2 win on home ice. Edmonton Oilers prospect Kirill Maksimov (7, 8) also had a big night with two goals and two assists while other Niagara markers came from Oliver Castleman (2), Ben Jones (4) and Kyen Sopa (4). Stephen Dhillon stopped 37 of 39 to collect the win as Barrie goals came from Peter Fleming (1) and Tyler Tucker (4). The IceDogs outshot the Colts 42-39 and went 3-for-6 on the man advantage, improving to 4-2-1-0. The Colts see their record fall to 3-4-1-0.
